Women is a power center !!!!

Indian women are equally responsible for creating inequality around our daily life.  In-fact we practice it daily, weather its in our expectation or its in our own actions. Ask this question to, to be moms : what kind of toys are you bringing for your child ? Its a girl, lets get something PINK  or SOFT TOYS ! Its a boy, lets NOT get SOFT toys ! When a boy cries, mothers teach him  "guys don't cry !" When rakshabadhan festival comes, mothers teach their boys that they have to protect their sisters ! When financial need comes, women expect men to take charge. When a daughter-in-law breaks norms,  its a woman( mother-in-law) who questions and commands her son, how dare she go out in those clothes ? When a son takes his wife out for a date/dinner or hugs her in public, its a woman (mother-in-law) who tells her son, "you are spoiling her ! you have become "lattu" behind your wife !"  When a bride is looking for a groom, her critics are  ...

My encounter with alcohol

Being brought up in a traditional hindu family I never encountered alcohol , until I moved to United States.  While growing up in India, I was taught that it is bad -and also had heard about one relative who passed away due to excessive drinking. So It was a bad thing. But why it is bad ? when it is bad ? what is in it, that is bad ? why there is so much demand when it is bad?  I didn't have any interest so I never asked these questions, never bothered.  Until one incidence.  After moving to United States at the age of 18,  I was a different person. A person with full of energy, with a brighter and more positive prospective and moreover a person who wants to know and explore. Seeing this energy, my uncle got little concerned and one day he started talking to me about all the hot topics including boyfriend, alcohol, drugs and what not.  Feeling free from the spirit high, I answered him genuinely.
